I've been taking an oil painting class at night this spring-- that is, when other deadlines aren't too pressing-- and thought I would post one of my pieces.
Nice painting, Charlie. Great contrast, balanced complimentary color, and I love the flick of light at the base of the easel, which makes it the center of interest. Your composition is solid, leading the eye thru the picture. Lovely. Sweet to see you making such good progress with good, old-fashioned oils.

Looks great! Doesn't it feel nice to work on inconsequential stuff like that?
I love the color in the shadows :)

That's great, Charlie - post some more!

Charlie, this is amazing! You are such a wonderful painter-can't wait to see more!
Nice idea of the plot. It looks very interesting when the subject is not very conventional.
